Is a good question and, I also believe that Why Not? is a good question. Have you considered taking the 'why not' path. You could consider this a "one-day-at-a-time" kinda thing. Blog here and there about your memories and your story, you could select a 'tag' like 'my story' or 'my book' just for yourself. Then in a few years you could simply go to the back-end of your blog and search the particular tag that you choose and voila - the chapters of your book will be right in front of you. Place them in some semblance of order and send them to an editor - boom, done and ready for publication. No wait! ...call your friends Jim and Renée at that point so that we can steal away to some exotic sunny spot for a 'Susan completed her book celebration'!!!! I like the organic "why not" and the "short blog-post chapters" that unfold after-time approach. But at the end of the day, it's your book and your story not mine. I am very impressed with the difficult conversation that you had with the coach and the very intense and focused questions she gave you to consider about why write a book. I love when coaches ask the really hard questions that make you think, a marker of a good coach. I have a vague notion of doing the same someday, but your entry posed me to think hard about the 'why'. I appreciate her having you focus on defining the outcome you desire so that you can figure out if the book is the best way to get there vs some other way. Very interesting! I get it. I totally get it. As a matter of fact, I received your blog while I was sitting at my computer poolside in Palm Desert dreaming up the content for my next. I am more of a blog binger than a consistent blog creator. I go in spurts and waves. Actually, I have find that after an intense month of working, I can easily knock off 5-10 blogs in a 24 hour period and then I post them sequentially. Anyway, we all have to figure out our own blogging momentum. It's such a personal thing. Anyway, I love reading your blogs whenever they hit my inbox so do as you do Susan.
